Summer Weekend

Summer has finally arrived. This past week was in the 80's and we took advantage of the weather...when it cooled off.

Saturday night Josh decided to give Lexie a bath.

Sunday afternoon we headed to Beaver Falls to play in the creek.

Walking across the top of the waterfall.

After walking across the top of the waterfall there is a pretty steep slope that you have to climb down in order to get to the bottom of the falls.

That was interesting getting the kids down, but we did it.

The bottom of the of the falls was packed with people so we moved further down the creek to a more private area.

We found caterpillars...

crawdads, fish, periwinkles...

and snails! Lily is showing off hers.

It was the perfect afternoon to splash around in a creek and explore.

Today was a BIG day. BIG in a sense that the kids have moved up a step in their lives. Josh was just telling me that he is feeling a little sentimental over it.

The past few weeks I had been looking a beds on Craigslist for J.D. I felt that it was time for him to have a bigger bed and Lily to be graduated from her crib to a toddler bed. I had found one that I really liked: a loft bed with a slide, and it was only 3 feet off the ground. It was perfect. But the next morning it was gone. So I just kept looking, and this morning mom called and said that Goodwill had a loft bed with a slide for $50. We headed over and it was still there so we bought it.

Tonight, the kids are sleeping in their new beds. J.D. in his twin size loft bed, and Lily in the toddler bed.

As we were setting up the loft bed, the kids had a blast playing under it and sliding down the slide. However, when it came time for bed time, Lily cried, wanting "my crib" and J.D. had a few tears in his eyes and wanted to know why his new bed looked like a crib.

So tonight is a big night in the Graber household. Our kids are growing up too fast.

lexie sure was standing still for her bath, I bet the coolwater felt good on a hot day. Did she shake all the water off and drench everyone afterwards? Thats what they usually do.
