We didn't get to the campground until long after dark, but thankfully Denise's dad had set up our tent and air mattress.
Monday morning we woke up bright and early (before 6am) and headed for a walk around the campground. Afterwards we came back and built our fire which was nice and warm for the chilly morning. After breakfast we all headed into Westport and did the 'tourist' thing to do: walk through shops and take pictures.

(which we tried not to fall down into)
Denise's dad was joking with some Mexicans (that were also on the rocks) that huge crabs live under the rocks and grab tourists by their legs and eat them. They crawled out of those rocks really fast!
We also went and walked through an outside museum and saw some sea-life

And a Coast Guard house (we didn't go in to tour it)

Then after lunch we got to race go-carts (which I LOVE!!!)

Later that afternoon we headed to the beach and played around for a couple hours. When you go to the coast, you HAVE to go to the beach....wish we'd do that more often. And you also HAVE to get your feet wet!

Ken and Karen brought along kites for us to fly.
I was pretty nervous about flying such a huge kite in strong winds, so Karen helped me the first couple of times.

hooking up two kites to get a really nice pull...
I'm so thankful that they didn't.
One was enough for me at the moment...maybe next time.

I didn't. Every time I attempted to do one, the kite would nose dive into the sand.
Denise also bought some crab for me to try, which was really good! Our last night camping was spent just relaxing and enjoying our last few hours of "freedom" before we had to go back to the normal daily grind.
We decided that once a month we were going to have a Girls Night and we are going to make it happen!
