Precious Experience & Blessed Hope

Today Susie and I remember our first child that we lost to miscarriage in 2005. Today was his or her expected birthday. We also lost our second child in that same year, however he or she was never given an official due date by our doctor. Through those two losses the Lord tested our faith and love for Him, and brought us through that very tough time with a greater spiritual maturity and a sincere compassion for those that also have suffered through the loss of a child. We appreciate J.D. and Lily all the more because of that experience. The birth of a child is truly a gracious gift from God. So thus, today we celebrate not the death of our first two children, but rather the life -- as short as it may have been. We know that God, the author of life had a very special purpose for their being. May glory be given to Him -- our Lord, Savior and God. Amen.
