Lily wanted a road map for herself, so at a rest stop Josh grabbed one for her. The kids then swapped maps for a bit. I glanced back and saw J.D. had unfolded Lily's map and it was completely over his head. I had to twist and turn to grab this picture, but the look on his face is priceless!
"What!?"
Back on the road and we were in Montana (or the purple state according to J.D. and his map)!
I have always loved Montana. Whenever we would drive to Wisconsin when I was a kid I would anxiously await the rugged beauty of Montana. It is still my favorite state.
The rest stop in Idaho had huge rocks for the kids to climb on...
..and Mommy and Daddy too...

We didn't stay on I-90 long before we turned onto a smaller HWY which took us into a deeper part of Montana that I had never been on before. And I was so excited to see what lay ahead of us on the road. Montana did not disappoint me.
Clark Fork is one of the most beautiful routes in Montana, and I was so excited to see that we still were able to follow part of Clark Fork along our route.
