Growing Up

Next year J.D. will be old enough to start school....I can't believe it. It does not seem possible that he is growing up this quick! I remember very clearly the first time I held him in my arms.

Anyways, he is one very smart kid, and I want to keep his brain on a roll. So, starting after the holiday, we will be starting our own mini school, here at home. I have our time already scheduled out and posted, and this week I will start my lesson plans.
Working in day care for so many years, I know what to plan and how to plan it. I am really excited about him and I sharing this new phase of life together.
Lily will be able to participate in the songs, stories, finger plays and arts/crafts of course. She will really like those things. But, when it is her nap time, J.D. and I will sit down and have our "class time".
A couple of years ago I talked to Josh about my desire to have our kids home schooled. He supported me with my decision, and as of right now, I am still planning on homeschooling, but meeting with other home schooled kids once a week.
I have talked to a friend of mine about it since she home schools her three boys, and think that right now, this is the right choice for both me and J.D. But things may change within the year. We shall see.
I would love to take J.D. 'school shopping' for some supplies, but that will have to wait. I still have some supplies from last year, so I will use those first as a review, however this kid doesn't forget anything!
So I will do my best to keep the blog updated with what we will be learning this year! Can't wait!
