This weekend was our Relay for Life. The weather was alot better than last years sudden downpours and hot sunny breaks. This year we had a little mist, some cloud cover and a few sun breaks. It wasn't too hot or too cold. Walking around the track was very bearable.
The kids and I went over shortly before 10 on Saturday morning to get our entry in for the silent auction. Mom and I did a diaper cake this year. Last year I did two, and they went for very little. Grandma wanted me to do another one, so mom and I split the cost of the supplies. At the end of the auction it went for $50! I was pleased that this year we didn't end up on the short side.
I don't have a picture of the cake, but we did a non-gender cake with a duck theme. It was really cute.
J.D. and Lily both did really good spending all day at the event. We didn't leave until after 10 that night. I wanted to watch the "Miss-Ter Relay" event. They had some really good contestants this year, but unfortunately I was not able to see who was crowned "Miss-Ter Relay". I ran into a guy that we used to go to church with, so I brought him over to our site where he could also visit with Josh. During that time the crowning took place. I have a feeling though that the Fred Meyer's team won. Their contestant was 'pretty' good.
We left for home and tried our best to get a good nights sleep because we were heading to the coast for a day of doing nothing but having fun.
