Etsy

It's been awhile since I updated about the book that I have been reading (or had been) about the Christian housewife. I was really enjoying the book until I came to the chapter about finances. The author said that a good housewife should have a job that she can do inside of her household. Well, I got really frustrated with that, so I stopped reading. But for months, it was bugging me, because I know that we could certainly use some extra money each month, and I don't want Josh to have to go and work another job. He already is doing two and has just recently started up his own business.

What could I do? What can I do? repeated itself over and over in my head.

I thought about starting up my own in home day-care. NOPE!

I can't sew anything, without some help and guidance, so that was out of the question.

A friend of mine just briefly mentioned selling premade scrapbook pages on Etsy, and I just let it go in one ear and out the other. I mean, I don't even have time to scrapbook for my own pleasure, how in the world would I find time to do pages for some extra money?

But apparently it did not all go out the other ear. As often as I heard What can I do? I also heard You can do the scrapbooking on Etsy!

So I started researching and then sought out advice from Josh. He seemed all for it, so I went ahead and set up my own Etsy site.

My friend Carrie invited me to go shopping with her one night, and so I stocked up on some supplies to get me started. Within the next few days I got two pages done and very excitedly showed Josh my work, and some extra findings that I already had on hand that fit perfectly with what I was doing.

Then a brilliant idea came to me one night when I couldn't sleep. I knew immediately what I wanted to do with my Etsy site. I told Josh about my idea the next day during his lunch break. He supported me again. I am not going to say what my idea is yet. I need to get everything together first and make it extra special before I can say what it is, what it will be. But Lord willing, it will be soon.

So if you want to check out my Etsy site, here is the web address:
