Summer Celebration

This past week my grandma got a surprise visit from two of her sisters. With them and other family coming down to see them we decided to have our annual BBQ over at grandpa and grandma's. All total we were planning on 55-60 people, but I have no idea how many showed up.
The morning weather didn't look too promising, but by mid afternoon, we got some sun peaks.

Lily and I went for a walk through
one of the fields and picked daisies.

As an extra bonus, we had lefsa!
Danny had some help, so they made close to 100 pieces.
We NEVER have lefsa in the summer.
We have lefsa for Thanksgiving and Christmas

After lunch Josh and I headed back to town to reserve a spot at the lake for the fireworks. Parking was already getting crowded where we normally park, so we decided to stay in the area.

Claiming our spots

Just a small portion of the crowd

As our 3rd year tradition, we bought some deep fried food.
This is one Milky Way candy bar and one Snickers.
SOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!

After walking through the vendors, we headed back to settle down for the fireworks.
You would never have guessed it was the 4th of July
with us in our winter coats!

Finally the fireworks started. J.D. had been looking forward to them for a long time.
He told Grandma that they were "Amazing!"

Lily enjoyed some of them...it was way past her bedtime.
