A Visit to Corban College

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, Susie, J.D., Lily and I took a trip to Corban College in Salem, OR. I graduated with my bachelors degree in Youth Ministry & English Communications in 2003 from Corban (then called Western Baptist College). Since I graduated, the college has grown quite drastically. Here are some pics documenting our visit...

The entrance to Corban College

This is the new Psalm Center (chapel).
When I went to school here we met up on the hill in the gym for chapel.

This is the library and some class rooms -- recently painted of course.

The clock tower -- another new addition.

This is the prison just across the street from the college.

My old mail box #790

A Trojan poster -- my old fellowship (Christian version of fraternity).
I was the communications coordinator back then for the Trojans
and had the job of puting up posters such as this one.
The Sky Bridge leading to the Administration Building.
Susie and I snuck a kiss atop this bridge once. :)

On our way up the path toward my old dorm -- Prewit Van Gilder Hall

at where daddy lived for two years

Outside PVG (Prewit Van Gilder) dorm.
This was fairly new when I attended Corban,
but now they have built two new dorms
which make this one look old and tiny.
Inside my dorm. The guys to the right, the girls to the left.
This is the lobby where the guys and girl hang out together.

My room was the top left (third from right) as shown here

" The" rock.
I was standing atop this rock while talking on the phone
when I first was told of a girl named Susie that I just had to meet.
This has very special meaning in our lives.

That concluded our trip back to Corban College. The two years I spent there was by far my most memorable and enjoyable of all my educational years. I feel I have a great bond with that school. Yet at the same time I am glad I am where I am in my life now. I can't imagine not having my wife and children and being a single young adult again. I wouldn't want to go back to that time, yet I will always remember it with fondness.
GO WARRIORS!!!
