Today at my M.O.P.S. meeting we had a guest speaker, Sue Kirby.
I really enjoyed her, she was entertaining and easy to listen to.
She made a wreath all the while telling us about her ups and downs as a wife, then a single mother of five children, then meeting her current husband.
She faced some really hard times but was able to share them with us in her quirky, funny way.
Her theme while making the wreath was "It doesn't matter"...where you place the flowers, or the ivy, or the ribbon. She tied this in with our lives and how the things we think are big at times do not matter in the long run. What does matter is love in our relationships with family and friends.
Being that she was a single mom and had hardly any income, she said that she used her imagination to create great memories for her children. She compilied many of them in a booklet and passed them out. I am looking forward to trying some of her ideas. She also passed out cards that say "It Doesn't Matter". I am going to make some of my own and stick them around the house, so that way when I am overwhelmed-say with laundery- I can look at the card in the laundry room and remember that it truly doesn't matter if the laundry is finished today or not-that it can wait and that spending time with J.D. and Lily is truly more important.

She is so right about the small things dont matter! It took me 60 yrs. to learn that lesson. What a relief when I learned that, I learned that thru living life. "DONT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF". Im so glad you got to go to MOPS. That lady had not had easy sledding. I love your blog, always anxious to see whats next.
Thank you for sharing. It's all to easy to get "caught up" in stuff. Need to step back and see how it fits in the "big picture".
I have a little book that has short stories in it, Dont Sweat the small stuff. Youre right, spending time with Lily and Little Man and Josh is the most important thing in life, cause in the yrs. to come thats where the memories lye. Not in the laundry. I wish I could hear that speaker speak.
That is really cool! The concept seems to come easier the older you get. Josh should know all about that now that he's an old man. LOL Just kidding, Josh! :o) Thanks for sharing that great bit of wisdom!
