'Tis the Season to Celebrate

This past weekend was full of parties...

Yesterday we went to the coast to celebrate Joyce's birthday and Christmas. On the way there we took the Washington way due to the delay on HWY 30 from the mud slide. We didn't see much damage from the storm, but as you'll see, Joyce had quite a bit of damage done to her property. She said that word had spread and people were coming, bumper to bumper, to check their place out.

Josh got a Greg Oden jersey

Joyce bought me candles that you do not light, they take batteries.

Wish we had some before and after pictures. All I can tell you to help you know what the place used to look like is this: They never had so much open light!

Josh and J.D. in what was the woods behind the house

The "woods"

The back woods (you never used to be able to see the neighbor's place)

On Sunday Aaron was willing to go and cut down our Christmas tree. I ended up choosing some sort of pine tree that is kind of "shaggy".

Saturday we spent the evening with family down in Hazel Dell. We did an ornament exchange that involved quite a few piggy banks. We ended up with a Beavers ornament and a snowman.

On the 14th I got together with a few friends from high school and we had our own Christmas party. Sheryl brought her son, Elijah who is just a little over 4 months younger than J.D. This was the first time that the two of them could really interact with each other.

Wow! It looks pretty bad and I have never seen it before. That's a lot of trees to lose.

And I thought we had a lot of parties to go to. :o) Glad you had fun!
